Now more than ever, we’re going beyond the keynote to provide campus programmers with interactive shows that include music performances, live demos, friendly contests, comedy, film, spoken word, and art.
We're featuring three of the most requested presentations for 2017-18. These presentations are highly-customized for each event and offer campus programmers the opportunity to focus on the themes most important topics.
Part film screening, part comedy show. This is an interactive film night for people who would rather laugh than cry their way through Hollywood representations of gender, race, class, sexuality and other aspects of identity. Through humour and pop culture criticism, 2-3 Reel Talk team members guide students in exploring Hollywood’s good, bad and ugly sides when it comes to topics like consent, objectification, and mental health.
In this interactive, one hour show, Ian Campeau (Co-Founder of A Tribe Called Red) engages students on topics that matter to them such as mental health, identity, anti-racism, allyship, consent, pop culture, and current events.
You’ll hear from Ian and he’ll also pick up the phone to call on some of his friends from music, film, and TV. Appearing by live video or phone, special guests may include names like George Stroumboulopoulos, Tegan Quin (Tegan & Sara), Shad, Grimes, Tanya Tagaq, and more. Breaking down the barriers between students and pop culture role models, this open format allows for discussion and Q&A between students, Ian, and his guests.
