The importance of creativity in the modern age: left brain vs right brain Maida grew up in a NON-creative environment. It wasn’t until he was 16 that he was able to discover his creative side. The path that lead him to find his creative confidence can provide great insight and hope for everyone who feels they are dominant left brain thinkers or for those who have lost or never known any creative confidence. Creativity is essential because Maida believes we live in the “age of ideas” where more than ever we need both critical and creative thinkers. From childhood Maida believes we are all born creative and it needs to be nurtured. Maida uses his music in his presentations to help demonstrate the “creative moment” and how you need to prepare for that moment before it happens. Social Activism and the Quest to Be a Decent Human Being The only way to make change is to get people engaged.’  Maida notes that even in this connected virtual world, we are more and more disconnected from our family, our planet, and the things that give life meaning. We are disconnected in good part because were addicted to stuff: technology, consumption, wanting, buying.  We’re so fortunate to be living in Canada and have the opportunities we do, but it also means we need to contribute more – work harder to get out and help and get our hands dirty. All humans are created equal, but not all humans have the same equal access to so much of what we take for granted.  Engage in critical thinking. Question tradition and authority, while still showing respect and gaining wisdom. Consider what kind of life do you want to lead? And how can you make that happen?  What the Business World Can Learn From the Music World Life is Waiting for You…

  • It's grounding to be reminded that wide-eyed wonderment isn't exclusive, and that someone who has spent his life earning admiration can be moved by greatness in the very same way. It seems that everybody is somebody’s fan.
