Global Meetings Industry Day 2022

It’s #TimetoMeet – Global Meetings Industry Day (GMID) returns April 7, 2022!

This international day of advocacy spotlights the importance of the meetings and events industry. Together, the industry showcases the undeniable value that business meetings, trade shows, incentive travel, exhibitions, conferences, and conventions bring to people, businesses, and communities.

As we continue to emerge from the pandemic, it’s important to reinforce the value of resuming meetings in person and how this can be done safely. That’s why this year’s theme is #TimetoMeet.

The National Speakers Bureau is proud to mark the importance of our industry as well as the many professionals that shape it. Here’s how we’re celebrating this annual day.

This year, we’re partnering with PCMA Canada East to present a Lunch ‘N’ Learn with accomplished economist futurist Linda Nazareth as part of Ottawa Meet Week. See below for details on her session!

Economorphics: The Economic Trends Changing Today into Tomorrow

From globalization to urbanization to dealing with demographic change, the world we know is morphing into a different planet with different economic opportunities and challenges. What are the trends taking today into tomorrow, and what are the trends that are resulting from the shift? In ‘Economorphics’, Linda Nazareth talks about the dozens of things she sees happening, and the challenges – and opportunities they present to the economy, the labour market and the financial markets – and to our industry as well.

Linda Nazareth is an accomplished economist futurist specializing in demographic, workplace, and economic trends, and how they will shape our future. Nazareth is the Senior Fellow for Economics and Population Change at think tank The Macdonald-Laurier Institute.
