Julielynn Wong is a Harvard-educated physician-scientist, innovator, and educator whose life’s mission is to take technology to the extreme to benefit the world.  She is internationally recognized as a 3D printing, drone, robotics, telemedicine and digital health pioneer who uses cutting-edge technology to deliver healthcare solutions across diverse environments, from outer space to remote communities with limited access to resources. She was the first to 3D print medical supplies on the International Space Station and she designed a solar-powered ultra-portable 3D printing system that can make medical supplies in off-grid communities.

Dr. Wong, who is board-certified in clinical informatics, will explore how trust in AI has been challenged by past failures and data misuse and what industry leaders can do better. Dr. Wong, an award-winning medical educator, will teach your group how to suture a simulated wound in this hands-on workshop. Proceeds support the training of surgical practitioners in low-resource contexts.
Mini-Medical School
In this hands-on workshop suitable for ages 8 and up, you will use a high fidelity, eco-friendly simulator and checklist designed by physician-pilot Dr. Julielynn Wong to learn how to perform a simulated clinical procedure. Proceeds support the training of healthcare providers in low-resource contexts.
Inventors Workshop
Today it's possible to take an idea, create a digital design, and make it physically real by clicking "print." In this design workshop, inventor Dr. Julielynn Wong empowers your organization to create and produce a novel prototype via user-centered design, a remote 3D designer, and a 3D printer.

Speaker Biography

Dr. Julielynn Wong is a brilliant, captivating, and unforgettable speaker who infuses powerful storytelling with a playful personality.  She brings an unrivaled passion for ideas that inspire audiences to build diverse, equitable, and inclusive teams to embrace innovation, and engage technology to solve big challenges.Following medical school at Queen’s University, Dr. Wong received a Frank Knox Memorial Fellowship to complete her Masters of Public Health degree studies at the Harvard School of Public Health. She is board certified in public health and general preventive medicine, aerospace medicine, occupational medicine, and clinical informatics, has authored over 35 scientific and technical publications and has 14 patents issued for medical devices. She worked as an aerospace medicine physician contractor at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center to support the Boeing and SpaceX crewed launches.She is a passionate educator who has taught courses and workshops for thousands of grade school, university, and postgraduate students. She founded Medical Makers, a program to inspire, educate, and empower a global community of innovators, patients, and healthcare providers to make sustainable solutions to save lives, time, and money. She is the Team Co-Lead for the Grand Prize Co-Winner for Intuitive Foundation’s Global Surgical Training Challenge. Her multi-racial, geographically diverse, and interdisciplinary teams are making open-access, low-cost simulation-based training to empower healthcare providers to acquire new procedural skills without the need for mentors anywhere in the world at any stage of their careers.Additionally, Dr. Wong is an avid pilot and drone racer, has flown as a microgravity researcher with NASA’s parabolic flight program, and served as an analog astronaut for NASA Johnson Space Center’s Human Exploration Research Analog IX and Mission Commander for Crews 183, and 207-8 at the Mars Desert Research Station. She serves as a drone instructor for the official auxiliary of the United States Air Force and deployed as an Unmanned Aerial Systems Mission Pilot in response to the 2020 catastrophic earthquake in Puerto Rico.
