Highlights of our Engage Speaker Showcase 2025

We brought together timely speakers and key industry insights for an exclusive gathering that explored the forces shaping today’s most industry-defining topics, including State of the Nation in Canada, AI and Humanity, and Pushing the Limits.

🔑 Key highlights from sessions include:

▶️ Iliana Oris Valiente on AI & Humanity:

Of all the AI thought leaders I’ve seen on stage in the past three years, Iliana delivered one of the most breathtaking presentations. She posed a powerful question: “Is AI built for humans, or to further advance tech?” Her perspective was both refreshing and deeply human-centered.
Thanks Connie for this rave review!

The Rise of Agentic AI — Agentic AI, capable of autonomously making decisions on behalf of users, is a major trend for 2025. This innovation offers exciting potential for streamlining work and communication in everyday tasks.

AI with a Human Focus — Most AI discussions focus on infrastructure and business applications, but the real differentiator is the human experience layer—how AI affects trust, emotions, and societal well-being. This crucial perspective highlights the emotional and trust-related aspects of technology, challenging organizations to shift their focus and consider the ethical and human-centric implications of AI adoption.

▶️ Sean Speer on the State of our Nation:

Sean Speer provided valuable insights into The Current State of Affairs, discussing the shifting political landscape in Canada and the US, and how these changes will impact the future..
Thanks Harpreet for this feedback!

Overcoming External Threats Requires Internal Unity — During an election campaign marked by external threats and internal divisions, active citizenship and empathy across political divides are key to preserving Canada’s cohesion and preventing external influences from deepening national fractures.

Bridging Divides for National Unity — While Trump’s provocations toward Canada may grab headlines, the real danger lies in how our nation responds. Internal political divisions—especially between Western Canada and Central Canada—pose a greater long-term threat to national unity than any external pressure.

▶️ Shawna Pandya on Success, Failure & Pushing the Limits:

This all-around powerhouse shared an impactful message on psychological resilience and the impact of language. How you say something matters just as much as what you’re saying. Whether leading a mission or navigating daily challenges, the way we communicate, debrief, and process experiences shapes not just outcomes, but also growth and is crucial for synergy, success, and resilience.
Thanks Chris for this summary!

Embracing Failure as Part of the Journey — Success isn’t a straight path from point A to point B; it often involves setbacks and challenges. It’s important to embrace failure as part of the journey, as constant winning may indicate you’re in the wrong league. Instead of being destructive, failure should be viewed productively, allowing for growth and improvement.

Building Psychological Resilience — Psychological resilience, which is key to navigating extreme environments, can be developed. It includes components like positive self-talk, mental rehearsal, impulse control, and breaking challenges into manageable steps.
