Speaker Biography

Dr. Greg Wells is a scientist and human physiologist.

At 15, while training for Canada’s National Youth Swim Team, he suffered a broken neck. After traction, neurosurgery and extensive physiotherapy, he was able to return to elite level swimming.

This experience sparked his interest in the human body. He went on to earn a PhD in human physiology from the University of Toronto and post-doctoral fellowships at the Hospital for Sick Children and Toronto General Hospital.

Throughout his studies he worked as a physiologist for over 200 Olympians and served as the Director of Sport Science for the Canadian Sport Institute.

Dr. Wells continued his research as a tenured professor at the University of Toronto and is a Senior Scientist at The Hospital for Sick Children. He has published over 70 papers in scientific journals.

Dr. Greg’s passion lies in helping everyone understand the science of the human body. To that end, he hosted the award-winning Superbodies series for the Vancouver and London Olympic Broadcasts.

He has written 5 best-selling books – Superbodies, The Ripple Effect, The Focus Effect, Rest Refocus Recharge, and Powerhouse.

Dr. Wells has spoken to audiences all over the world at events such as TEDx, Mastermind Talks and The Titan Summit, where he has shared the stage with Richard Branson, Steve Wozniak and Deepak Chopra.

Dr. Wells loves being active and has participated in the Nanisivik marathon 600 miles north of the Arctic Circle, Ironman Canada, and the 11,000 km Tour D’Afrique – the longest cycling race in the world.

Currently, Dr. Greg is focused on his moonshot of solving the billion-person problems of sleeplessness, inactivity, metabolic syndrome and mental health so everyone can live a limitless life.
